Of all my favorites, lace has to be my total favorite. I love to knit lace shawls. What else could be more feminine? And even better, you don't have to be totally whigged out about gage! Just cast on, see if it's a lacy enough sample for you and keep going. That's my kind of plan! I just completed the Beltane shawl from Goddess Knits. I absolutely loved the pattern. It was such a fun knit. And it turned out beautiful. I used Blue Moon Fiber Arts Geisha in the Valkyrie (I think) colorway. Wonderful yarn! Here's a pic of my completed shawl blocking.
And here is my beautiful daughter modeling.
The shawl turned out beautiful. I couldn't figure out how to get the pic to rotate. OK, so I can knit lace, but I'm not electronically inclined!
My next project is going to be an EZ Tomten Jacket for my 6 year old. It's starting to cool down here and it is just what she needs for cool fall days. If I can track down the pattern today hopefully I can finish it this weekend! I'm planning on using Manos Silk Blend in this colorway.
That should be perfect for a little girl! Wish me luck! I'm off to hunt for the book.
